On Thursday 27th April 2017 the ETU was notified that the Fair Work Commission has raised a number of compliance issues with the Fuji Xerox Australia – Customer Support Organisation Enterprise Agreement 2016. For your information I have included those issues on the following page.
Despite our repeated requests the company has yet to give us a briefing on how they intend to address the issues. Our understanding is that most of the issues can be sorted out with undertakings and are technical compliance issues in nature which when rectified will have no effect on the agreement. Having said that they obviously need to be sorted out.
To avoid any confusion around issue 5b) in particular, which deals with minimum rates of pay, this does not affect current members in any case because there are no members on this classification rate of pay.
This latest debacle is yet another unnecessary and regrettable delay to the process which could have well been avoided had FXA paid more attention to detail. It is however important that members understand that there will be no material effect on the agreement as negotiated. All the applicable back pay and conditions will still be honoured. As soon as we have a briefing from FXA on how they intend to address the issues and comply we will notify members.
On another note the union movement will be celebrating May Day this Sunday 7th May with a march and family fun day commencing 12:00 at Hyde Park Nth and ending at Prince Alfred Park. At the end of the march there will be food, rides and entertainment for the kids. I encourage all members to attend this great event and stand with us to celebrate and recognize the achievements of the union movement and the contribution that all unionists have made to Australian society over the past 150 years.
