This equates to more than 5% per year over the life of the 40-month union EBA.
The agreement was voted up overwhelmingly by ETU and AMWU members at a mass meeting today.
Site allowance, ranging between $2 and $7 per hour based on project tenders, will be paid from July 2021 to lift installers in construction. A new allowance for service technicians will be introduced.
Six existing allowances jump by 17% in line with wages.
ETU organiser Steve Bankes welcomed the outcome, which came after months of negotiation.
‘This is a great result that puts good pay rises in members’ pockets, all achieved without industrial action.
